Debt-to-Income (DTI) Calculator
Debt-to-income compares what you owe each month to what you earn each month before taxes. It is one of the most common figures reviewed during a financing application.

This ratio is informational. Thresholds vary by financing provider, product and program, and DTI is only one of several figures reviewed. It is not a qualification decision.
This calculator is an educational estimator. Results are illustrations based only on the values you enter. How this works
Total monthly debt is the sum of every recurring obligation you enter, including housing, auto, student loans, credit card minimum payments, personal loans, court ordered support and other regular debt.
Your ratio is total monthly debt divided by gross monthly income, multiplied by 100. Gross income means income before taxes and deductions.
Everyday living costs such as groceries, fuel and utilities are normally excluded from this calculation.
What your result means
A lower ratio generally means more of your income is unspoken for each month. There is no single universal cutoff. Thresholds differ by product, provider and program, and many other factors are reviewed alongside DTI.
This result is informational. It is not a qualification decision and it does not predict whether a financing request will be approved.
If the ratio is higher than you expected, reducing balances on revolving accounts or avoiding new obligations before applying are the levers most within your control.
